I had been feeling guilty about keeping Bali as a indoor cat. She was very adventurous and desperately wanted to play outside but my wife didn't feel it was safe for her while she was a kitten. We compromised and I let her play in my garage/shop. She had all the makings of a decent shop car; she was unafraid of power tools and the air compressor, she didn't mind getting covered in sawdust and she really liked hunting the spiders that inevitably made their home in the dark corners and recesses.

Bali also liked to find unusual places for naps. One day I walked into the shop and found she had begun using my motorcycle helmet for naps. I thought it was adorable and snapped a few photos. The next day I was not so amused, my helmet smelled vaguely of MaxCat Kitten Chicken & Liver catfood and StepFresh cat litter. A few laps around Boulder with the visor open aired out the helmet but now there is no more helmet naps....

Happy Thanksgiving!

Bali has been busy eating everything that has fallen to the kitchen floor during food prep and finally stepped outside for a little morning exercise.

Here she is dressed up for the holiday in her drumstick headband, which she is oh-so happy to wear, as you can see.

How did this rascally cat get the name Bali? Lets take a look back at when she arrived.

Born in Larimer County, Colorado, Bali was rescued from the fires burning there during the summer and was transferred down to Boulder, where we adopted her. Her distinctive stripes, spotted belly and rust coloring immediately reminded us of a tiger. Her immediate affection for a palm plant in our living room confirmed this notion, and she was named Bali, after a Balinese Tiger.

This is Bali, a 6 month old Tiger who resides in Boulder, CO. When she is not playing jungle cat in her cat condo, she is attacking random objects around the house. She has quite the feisty personality and, like all cats, likes to drink from the toilet.
